Brandon Franklin, a saxophonist and original member of a New Orleans brass band, has just died in a domestic dispute. Now the band tries to move on.

Lorenza Davis, 79, a Louisiana native of 60 years, began his fishing day at 8 a.m. Saturday at the New Orleans Lakefront. Lake Pontchartrain serves as an alternative for those affected by the closing of local fishing attractions because of the oil spill.
